The Printer's Front Panel Displays the Message This IP Address is Already in Use
Solution: Assign the printer a valid TCP/IP address

After setting a TCP/IP address through the printer's font panel, the printer will scan the network to see if any other device is using that same TCP/IP address. If it finds a device with the same TCP/IP address, it will display the message This IP Address is Already in Use and will then give the option to Quit and Discard Changes or Edit the IP Address.

To clear this message, select Quit and Discard Changes to exit without making changes, or select Edit the IP Address; then assign a valid TCP/IP address not being used by another device on the network.

Note: For detailed information on TCP/IP addressing, refer to the tutorial Understanding TCP/IP Addressing and Subnetting Basics.
